Who? What? Where? - The Emmys Edition

Yet another huge awards show has taken place in California this week. Last night, the 66th Emmy Awards were hosted by Seth Meyers, with Breaking Bad and Modern Family taking home most of the awards. My main interest being in what the actors wore, here is a list of my top ten favourite looks on the red carpet.

1) Julia Roberts took a risk in wearing a short, Elie Saab Haute Couture dress, but succeeded in pulling off the beaded frock! As one of the only short dresses of the night, Julia seriously stood out in her stunning, leggy look.

2) Sarah Hyland, one of the younger actors attending the Emmys, looked gorgeous in a coral Christian Siriano long skirt and white crop top. The vibrant colour suited Sarah perfectly, proving that orange really is the new black, this season.

3) Alicia Quarles looked stunning in a Dany Atrache gown. This textured dress was a combination of sexy and classy, with a plunging neckline and stylish, velvet and mesh skirt.

4) Camila Alves looked amazing in a Zuhair Murad Resort 2015 dress. The sheer gown, with its lace detailing, was super sexy and a huge success.

5) Kate Mara was gorgeous in a J. Mendel dress. The lace detailing on the front, and intricate back created a classy look that was purely beautiful.

6) Hayden Panettiere was glowing in her glittering Lorena Sarbu gown. The pregnant star looked incredible in the plunging, metallic dress.

7) Laverne Cox wore an amazing white, custom Marc Bouwer dress. The star looked stunning with her smokey eyes and simple up do.

8) Julie Bowen killed it in a floral Peter Som dress. The "Modern Family" star looked fantastic in the low cut, long dress.

9) Kiernan Shipka looked absolutely unbelievable in an Antonio Berardi Resort 2015 dress. The embellished waist band was super flattering for the 14 year old, who never fails to wow on the red carpet.

10) Kerry Washington showed off her post-baby body in Prada. The form fitting dress was sexy and the colour was an interesting change from Oliva Pope's usual white suits.

Please let me know if you agree with my top ten looks from the 66th Emmy Awards.

Who? What? Where? - The VMA Edition

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted in California last night, showcased the music industry's finest talent both on the red carpet and on stage. Beyoncé slayed it, when she performed a fifteen minute summary of her whole self-titled album, before accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which was presented by Jay-Z and Blue Ivy. I think it's safe to say that the power couple are as strong as ever! Bow down.

Nicki Minaj suffered a wardrobe malfunction on stage, while performing her new single "Bang Bang" with Jessie J and Ariana Grande. However, the star impressively managed to prevent any drastic slips by hanging onto the front of her dress while continuing with her incredible performance.

Keep reading for the 2014 MTV VMAs best dressed.

1) Not only did Beyoncé stun on stage, but also on the red carpet in her Nicolas Jebran textured dress. The lace and sequined gown oozed sex appeal, crowning her Queen of the VMAs.

2) The Knowles owned this years VMAs, with Solange (aka Bey's baby sis) dazzling the crowds in a sparkly H&M Studio suit. This masculine look was made super sexy paired with killer heels, red lashes and a plunging neckline.

3) Chanel Iman looked incredible in a black Balmain dress and Casadei heels. The supermodel, who starred in the "Yoncé" music video, did the Queen proud in her figure hugging dress.

4) Another "Yoncé" star stunned in a black, Balmain ensemble. Jourdan Dunn's bandeau contrasted beautifully with the maxi skirt, creating a sexy look that showed off her toned abs.

5) Kendall Jenner killed it in an Alon Livne sheer shirt and high waisted trousers. The sheer bodice and black, La Perla bra were super sexy, but the long trousers ensured that this look didn't stray from sexy to slutty.

6) Miley Cryus took a more tame, yet stylish, route this year in an Alexandre Vauthier look, with only her midriff on show. Plus, her work for homless youths and acceptance speech earned Miley extra bonus points.

7) Rita Ora was a ravishing lady in red. Her Donna Karen Atelier dress fitted her perfectly, and the silk blew beautifully in the breeze. Rita pulled an Angelina Jolie with the side split, while the glittering Lorraine Schwartz choker topped the look off.

8) Sarah Hyland's blue, one shouldered gown was gorgeous. The Kaufmanfranco dress, Stuart Weitzman heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery created a stunning look.

9) Jennifer Lopez proved that you can look sexy at any age, in her Charbel Zoe cut-out gown. The metallic dress was extremely risqué, yet the star managed to pull it off and give the younger celebs a lesson in how to dress like a diva.

10) Because we can't give Beyoncé enough praise, she wins another best dressed place for her bejewelled Tom Ford leotard. The jewels shone along with their wearer during Beyoncé's performance and we can't help but melt at how cute the Carter family are. All hail Queen Bey.

Who? What? Where? - The TCA Edition

On August 10th, the Teen Choice Awards were hosted in Los Angeles, by FOX. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners! Now, for the part we're all interested in...who were the best dressed celebs at the event?

1) Chloe Moretz looked absolutely stunning in a full Valentino outfit, from the Pre-Spring/Summer 2015 collection, which she paired with red Stuart Weitzman barely-there heels. Bravo, Chloe! You once again aced the red blue carpet look.

 2) Shay Mitchell looked incredible in a two-piece from Misha Collection. The white lace really accentuated Shay's tan, and her loose braid and dark lipstick created the perfect finish.

 3) Sara Hyland, the show's co-host, shone in a sparkly Marc Jacobs dress. The plunging neckline and short hem win Sarah the award for "sexiest look" on the blue carpet.

4) Selena Gomez looked beautiful in a Saint Laurent jumpsuit, Miu Miu heels and a Dior clutch. Her slicked back ponytail highlighted her smoky eyes and gorgeous complexion, proving that you don't need to show off too much skin to look sexy and sophisticated.

5) Nina Dobrev showed off her tanned limbs in a colourful ensemble from Vionnet. Paired with striking Kurt Geiger heels, which helped elongate her already long legs, Nina showed us how to perfect the matching crop and shorts look.

6) Demi Lovato looked beautiful in a white Elisabetta Franch dress. I'm not usually a big fan of Demi's red carpet style, or blue in this case, but she showed me that she can still pull off a fantastic short dress, with some gold accessories to top it off.

7) Ansel Elgort looked so cute in a blue, leather jacket and checked, grey trousers. Not to mention his goofy smile. Ansel, we love you.

8) Taylor Swift looked gorgeous in a mint green Novis crop top and matching skirt. I adore the tweed material, and T-Swizzle's hair looks fabulous. You go, girl.

9) The Jenner/Kardashian trio looked stunning, with Kendall in Oriett Domenech, Kim in Balmain and Kylie in Sass & Bide. These sisters know how to arrive in style.

10) Hailee Steinfeld's Elie Saab dress was not liked by all, but I for one, love the textured, lace dress and Casadei heels. You have my approval, Hailee.

Please let me know, in the comments, if you agree with my choice of the top 10 best dressed TCA attendees!

How To: Dress for Your First Day Back to School

September is looming, and school will begin for most, very soon. Tomorrow, for me, actually. While I do wear a school uniform, that doesn't stop me from imagining what I would wear back to school, if I wasn't forced into my "petrol blue" skirt, shirt, jumper and black penny loafers. Here are a few suggestions if you're struggling with how to "wow" your classmates, when school starts.

1) Preppy in Plaid
This plaid skort from Topshop, paired with a simple tee from Brandy Melville creates the perfect preppy look for your first day back to school. Don't forget a practical, yet stylish satchel, like this one from The Cambridge Satchel Company, with it's cool calf-hair pocket. These chelsea boots from Zara are a great way to add a finishing touch to the preppy ensemble.

2) Sports Luxe
A chic pair of trackpants from Forever 21, paired with a simple tee from Brandy Melville and a fun beanie, also from Brandy Melville, create a cool and casual look. To finish off this sporty outfit, add a pair of Steve Madden sneakers and a leather jacket from New Look.

3) Distressed Dimensions
Master the art of balance by pairing distressed boyfriend jeans, from Topshop, with a striped, cropped tee from Brandy Melville. The baggy trousers contrast with the crop top, to make the perfect balance between masculine and feminine. These Steve Madden booties will add that extra touch to the outfit.

4) Bohemian Beauty
While the summer holidays are over, the weather may still be nice going back to school, so this dress and crochet cardigan from Brandy Melville, will create a beautiful boho look, ideal for the warmer school days.

5) Skater Girl
Channel your inner "Skater Girl" by wearing a classic pair of ripped, denim mom shorts from Topshop, with an oversized sweater from Brandy Melville. Just add this chic backpack from Steve Madden and you're good to go!

I hope these outfit suggestions helped and let me know, in the comments below, what you'll choose to wear on your first day back to school!
